Director of Programmatic

Chacka Marketing is seeking a talented individual to join our team as the Director of Programmatic, reporting to the VP of Digital Media.  The Director leads a team that drives strategic development and execution of client partner campaigns across Display, Mobile, Native, and Video channels.

In this role he/she will partner with colleagues across channels to ensure that campaigns are consistently innovative, testing new solutions and optimizing campaigns that drive to client partner goals.  The Director determines each team member’s assignments and bandwidth, distributing work as needed.  He/she will also serve as the escalation point of contact for clients and internal teams.

This role requires a mastery of performance display marketing strategies and tactics, a strong drive to develop long lasting client partners relationships, and ability to effectively lead a team of managers and specialist capable of delivering upon defined performance results.  A successful Director of Programmatic will be revenue-minded, have an entrepreneurial mindset and genuine passion to make our client partners successful.  

Operational Responsibilities:


  • Act as a mentor to, and oversee a team of Digital Media Managers and Specialists (performance management, team development, resource planning)

  • Oversee the planning, management and execution of programmatic display strategies and tactics that drive measurable results 

  • Maintain and monitor client performance, budgets, test scenario outcomes and other important key performance indicators

  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen Chacka’s client partner relationships that promote retention and growth

  • Effectively present strategic and tactical plans to clients, staff and internal teams



Organizational Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to thought leadership materials and presentations that further distinguish Chacka as a leader in the space

  • Contribute to new business development and sales pitches

  • Motivate and develop all members of his/her team, identifying and capitalizing on team member strengths

  • Monitor the latest trends in digital media, including advertising formats, channels and emerging technologies in order to develop proactive recommendations as to how client partners can benefit

  • Identify ‘client wins’ on a regular cadence and showcase those successes in the form of blogs, white papers, case studies, etc.

  • Responsible for meeting Organizational revenue targets quarterly 





  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a team leadership role, with at least 5 years relevant experience in a digital agency environment managing Display, Video, Social, and/or Mobile programmatic media buying

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, Business or related field

  • Possess a strong understanding of all digital media disciplines with demonstrated core competency Performance Display

  • Experience with Display platforms like DoubleClick, The Trading Desk, MediaMath, DataXu, or others

  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex thoughts and ideas to get buy-in from other individuals

  • Expert-level Excel and strong PowerPoint (PPT) skills

  • Strong desire and ability to think creatively to solve problems and use professional judgment

  • Strong project management, multi-tasking skills and attention to detail are a must

  • Industry certifications a plus
